I can say, without contradiction, this costume has been my most difficult one to
date.  After eleven months of research and work, it was completed shortly before
the August 15th, 2004 deadline.
~
The leather breastplate, which is in two layers, is entirely hand sewn, and the white
tree design first embossed, then painted on.
~
The surcoat, made from olive green denim with a slight stretch, laces up the side
with grommets and has three clasps as the front closure.
The shoulder pauldrons, of quilted suedecloth connect to the surcoat by means of
D-rings, which can be tucked under the neckline when not in use, and leather
lacing.
~
The shirt, made of 100% cotton and dyed to a dirtied tan, boasts quilted sleeves,
which lace completely up on the underside, and a lace up collar, with yoke.
~
The cloak, a simple half-circle with specialized hood, is made from a non-stretch
denim in olive green.

Now to what you really want to know.
For an average medium size, this costume, including leather breastplate, shirt,
surcoat, pauldrons, and cloak, would cost $1200.  Expensive, I know, but after
having completed this one once already, I know just how much work is involved in
its creation.  Each piece is made to be as durable as I can manage and to be able to
be worn separately or with other costumes.  Nothing is faked.
As this has so many layers, I use only natural fabrics, for breathability.  The leather
breastplate gets hot enough.

Need just a single item?  Ask me.

As a side note, the shipping within the US on this complete costume runs around
$30.  As it is so expensive already, shipping and insurance is free in the US.
