After seeing the trailers for the third X-men movie, I absolutely had to make the coat worn by Jean Grey.  I had intended to make the complete outfit, including the corset, but then I actually watched the movie and my motivation died.  The coat turned out quite nice, though. I used an iridescent taffeta for the coat, in red/black.  It has princess seams and is split at all seams up to the waist.  Pictures were hard to come by at first, so the collar isn't quite accurate.  The original has a rolled collar, whereas I made mine with a regular collar.  The front closes with chinese frogs.  These were added after selling it to a friend for a mundane coat.
